There used to be many factories producing dried cassava chips as an animal feedstuff (mainly for pigs) in Perak state of Malaysia. The chipping machine cuts the cassava tubers into thin slices which are then spread out on a concrete drying yard out in the open to dry in the sun. When it rained, there was a rush to shovel the chips under a zinc roof-like structure.
